Lemon Twist Sour

Lemon Twist Sour

Lively, sprightly and full of bubbles, it's twists on twists with this sweet-sour sip!
Recipe by Twinings. 
Makes 2 glasses.



  • 4 Lemon Twist Teabags
  • ½ tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tbsp Caster Sugar
  • 1 Lemon, juiced
  • 1 Egg
  • Handful of Ice
  • 400 mls, Lemon Squash
  • Bitters, to taste
  • Lemon curls, to garnish 


You’ll need:

  • Measuring jug
  • Chopping board
  • Knife
  • Small sieve
  • Cocktail glass
  • Small Bowl
  • Cocktail skewers
  • 2 glasses



Here's the how to: 


  • Make the tea base: Brew 4 Lemon Twist in 300 mls of hot water for five minutes or until cool in heat-proof measuring jug.  
  • Prepare the cocktail shaker: Add brewed tea, Vanilla Extract and Caster Sugar into cocktail shaker. Cut lemon in half and juice both halves into cocktail shaker.
  • Separate the egg: Using the side of a small bowl, crack egg. Using shells, scoop the yolk from shell to shell, collecting the whites in bowl. Add egg whites to cocktail shaker. 
  • Get shaking: Add ice, lid and shake cocktail glass until the outside becomes cold. 
  • Garnish and serve: Pour liquid into glasses, top each with Lemon Squash and desired amount of bitters to taste. Peel lemon, skewer and add to glass. Best served with good company and a fun board game.
